टिपिकल मराठी लूक
"टिपिकल मराठी लूक" ची नक्की व्याख्या काय? मुम्बईत आल्यापासून मला बर्याच लोकान्नी असे सान्गितले आहे कि मी मराठी दिसत नाही. मराठी दिसणे म्हणजे नक्की काय हे मला कुणीही सान्गू शकलेले नाही. "टिपिकल कोकणस्थ लूक" सर्वान्ना माहिती आहे - cliched घारे गोरे. Exhibit A - अजीत आगरकर. आपण बाकी मराठी लोक बिचारे स्वता:च्या "लूक" बद्दल भलतेच confused आहोत.
तर चला चर्चा करूयात. "टिपिकल मराठी लूक" म्हणजे नक्की काय?

Typical marathi look mhanje madhyam unchee,sadhe kapde, rang variable asto. Cheheryawar khaas features astatch asa nahi. For eg typical gujju hanuvati astey, can't explain kashee astey.
Lok tondala yeil te baraLtaat...my frank opinion. KoNi mala sangtat mee typical bengali distey, koni mala atypical southie mhantat, koni parsee mhantat.
The most TYPICAL thing about the Maharashtrian's is they are NOT TYPICAL !!
They have all varieties in them.

"typical marathi look" ( jar ka gender vagaire consider kela nahi tar) would be - 1) deep set eyes mostly with dark circles 2) sundar kes asle tari tel lavun ghatt venya ghatleli look 3) hatat phoola-phoola wali kapadachi pishvi 4) hatala bandhlele 4-5 veglya veglya devanche dore 5) galyat ghatlelye 2-3 devanche lockets 6) mothya mothya angtya (rings)2-3 botanmadhe ( OH GOD! WRITING MARATHI IN ENGLISH IS HILARIOUS, I JSUT CANNOT STOP THIS GIGGLE). sadhya tari evdhach athavtay :) bakicha nantar.
मुंबईत असताना मला काही फ़ारसा अनुभव आला नाही, पण परदेशात गेल्यावर मात्र भारतीय दिसत नाहीस असे म्हणणारे भेटले. ते बहुतेक सगळे dusky bollywood indian heroins , लांब केस, टपोरे, काळे डोळे अशाच दिसतात भारतीय मुली ह्या समजात असावेत. कोकणस्थी रंग आणि डोळे असणार्‍या मुलींना तरी टिपिकल मराठी दिसणार्‍या समजतात त्यात फ़ार काही चूक मुंबईतली लोकं करत नाहीत असा निदान माझा तरी अनुभव होता पण परदेशात त्यांना भारतीय दिसत नाहीस असे म्हणतात हा मला फ़ारच धक्का होता बाकी. एकंदरीत interesting आहे चाललेला विषय.

ypical marathi look! A good test to check whether you fall into the typical marathi look : If your teacher/shopkeeper starts speaking to you in hindi, then you know you are not seen as the typical marathi person.
Gaurav, starting a marathi blog is a neat idea. I will give baraha a try once my Windows starts again.

I think there is nothing like typical marathi look. You can say that someone has a typical konknastha look or marathi brahmin look but otherwise I think it's very hard to define what makes one look a maharashtrian.But many times I can recognize a marathi person without speaking to him. It's a tough one really!
